How to get access to CHARM facility
For CERN registered persons, - employed members of the CERN personnel (MPE) and associated members of the personnel (MPA) such as users (USER) - a number of access requests and trainings are required to access the CHARM facility, as well as a personal dosimeter.
This is because CHARM is located in an RP supervised area (building 157) and includes RP controlled areas with limited stay, namely the irradiation zone and adjacent areas.
An operational dosimeter (DMC) is also necessary to access CHARM irradiation zone.
PPEs for controlled areas - limited stay and for buildings with overhead cranes are mandatory in CHARM and building 157 at all times: Safety shoes, helmet with lamp.
